Simone Haack's paintings deal with the dissolution of boundaries and self-illumination from pain and lightness, in states in which the skin speaks of the intimate liaison between body and soul and the wide-open eyes of rapture. In her spatial inventions, which are both a hiding place and a stage, Simone Haack is concerned with the perceptible and legible surfaces between the world and the self.
