In the exhibition May all your dreams come true Wayne Horse focuses thematically on the concept of the manufacturability of society. He writes: "Our society is obsessed with the idea of making your dream come true and living your dream life. In May all your dreams come true I will focus on success coaching, all-inclusive vacations, religious cults, professional religion, social media, celebrity cult, real desires and the ballast that comes with it. My work is often experienced as criticism, but I certainly try to reflect the good sides as well. Care, friendship and love are just as often subjects of my work as ignorance, selfishness and greed. They just fade away and merge into each other. Dreams and hope are initially positive things that are encouraged. It is the circumstances in which they arise that infect them with dirt. This makes them an interesting subject for me".
Willehad shows us the world differently. He observes and amazes and makes us part of that amazement. With his works he shows how it's possible: "Make your dreams come true, but not on Instagram". Wayne Horse pleads for an open interpretation of his work, an attitude that fits well with how Concordia wants to discover art together with the public. During the build-up, which takes about a week, Wayne Horse will talk to the audience and you as a visitor can experience the making process up close.
This exhibition is made possible by the Mondriaan Fund.
